Did you know that dry eye syndrome affects more than 40 million people in the United States?! In fact, dry eye disease is one of the most common reasons that people visit their eye care professional. If you’ve been experiencing recurring dry eye symptoms including: itching, burning and discomfort, we can help – be sure to schedule a TearLab test with Dr. Kelly today!

Here’s how it works: By using the TearLab, Dr. Kelly can quickly and painlessly measure a small sample of a your tears to determine how dry they truly are. From there we are able to fully understand your ‘level’ of disease. Your unique tear number will also allow us to decipher the best means of treatment for you.

Here are some common dry eye treatments: For mild cases of dry eyes caused by computer use, reading, schoolwork and other situational causes, the best dry eye treatment may simply be frequent use of artificial tears or other lubricating eye drops. Instead of artificial tears (or in addition to them), your eye doctor might recommend daily use of a prescription eye drop for your dry eye treatment. Lastly, sometimes your doctor may recommend steroid eye drops to better manage the underlying inflammation associated with dry eyes.
