How IntraLase Improves Laser Eye Surgery

IntraLase is the most progressive method of creating the flap that LASIK requires, and also one of the safest and most successful. A femtosecond (quadrillionth of a second) laser is used to create pulses that make the flap. Dr. Kelly is able to set this laser to contact the cornea at an exact depth and shape, placing tiny bubbles within the cornea to prepare it for re-shaping.

Once the flap has been created, it can be easily folded back to allow the surgeon to perform the rest of the LASIK procedure by reshaping the inner layer of the cornea using a second laser to correct:
